Home Learning
Welcome to the Sebright School home learning portal!
Here you will find everything you need to help your children learn at home.
There are links to useful resources, suggested projects, access to online activities and information about what your child has been learning in class.
At Sebright school we pride ourselves in making learning fun, engaging and accessible for all. We encourage children to make mistakes as they are excellent opportunities to learn!
There is a suggested daily timetable above, as children feel confident and comfortable when they are in a routine. Remember to take a break when needed and learn in short, sharp, bitesize pieces.
Reading is the key to successful learning – the more you read the better you’ll get at everything!
It’s always useful for children to reflect and comment on what they have just learnt. So, once you have learnt a new skill or knowledge, get your child to explain what they have learnt and teach you!
Find learning opportunities throughout the day too – lessons aren’t all about sitting down with a pencil and a piece of paper! Get them to help weigh and measure the ingredients for dinner time – work out how long they have left until bath time – set up a tuck shop in your kitchen for any time they want a snack to teach them about money – tell them traditional stories that you remember from when you were a child.
Your child will learn so much from you. Enjoy your time together.
Talk, laugh, have fun and happy learning!
See you all soon.
