To ensure children can pronounce and read words and sentences accurately and confidently in Spanish a consistent approach is used from early years.
Our phonics approach is based on the context of what vocabulary children are learning depending on the year group or stage. Children start learning the vowels first. Actions are added so students can remember the sounds and review and retrieval is embedded in lessons. After some practising, children are now helping each other to remember key sounds.
