Welcome to Reception 24-25

Important dates for your child’s transition:

•· Tuesday 18th June at 10-11.30am: Reception “Stay and Play” 
Where your child gets to meet the teaching staff and explore the new learning environment with their parents. This will be for all children joining in September – those from our Sebright nursery and elsewhere.  There will be a brief introduction from the staff and a chance for you to ask any questions. You will be told about uniform, how to register for Breakfast Club and Extended Day care and other important information before starting at Sebright School.  

•· Thursday 20th June: Admission Form Day 
You will need to fill out an admissions form if your child is new to Sebright. We can support you completing those at the Admission Form Day. You will also need to provide proof of identity and address when you fill out the forms.

•· Friday 28th June at 14.00-17.00: Sebright Summer Fair
Please join us and our school community at our annual Summer Fair for an afternoon of fun and festivities! We will have stalls, games, prizes, tombola, a bouncy castle, face painting and food and drink, all to raise funds for new school equipment.

•· From Monday 1st July (Mon 1st / Wed 3rd / Thurs 4th July): Home visit week 
We will visit you at home to find out more about you! We will organise this visit during the above events.

If your child currently attends the Sebright School nursery, you will only need to attend the Stay and Play event as the children will have other transition events happening during the term. 

SEPTEMBER DATES: Autumn 1 2024

• Wednesday 4th Sept – 9.30-11.30
• Thursday 5th Sept – 9.30-11.30
• Friday 6th Sept – 8.45-13.00 (children stay for lunch)
• Monday 9th Sept – 8.45-15.30 (full time) BFC & EDC starts for Reception

*If you feel your child could benefit from a longer settling period, please let us know. 
We will consult with you in the first few days if we feel they might need that too.
