We have been learning about the history of Hackney and we completed a history hunt, using a map with key markers to look out for. We compared our school to the newer school across the road, we looked out for old and new buildings along the way.
We also learnt about the history of the waterways and why the canal was so important, as well as comparing Broadway Market from times of old and now.
We ended our trip with a visit to St Augustine’s Tower, the oldest building in Hackney. We climbed 122 to get to the top and see the amazing views of London. We can’t wait to learn more about other historical events and people from Hackney and beyond.
