Reception were so interested in different occupations that we learnt about other professions that we wanted to know more about. We also still love playing superheroes, so we learnt about the real-life superheroes that help us in an emergency.
We learnt about the equipment that firefighters need to help them be safe, and to help people in an emergency. We talked about fire safety at home and to call 999 in an emergency. We role played being firefighters to use our new vocabulary in our play and created a burning buildings that we then had to make safe and hose down. There are now lots more potential firefighters in our community!
